I FINALLY made a shop on Etsy! I don’t know why it’s taken so long, but I just added my 4 most recent books, with more to come! So, if you were ever unsure where to order or were just too shy to contact me… head to Etsy to buy my stuff!

Like a dimly lit pass through the workings of my mind, i n d i f f e r e n t s p a c e  explores ideas of human interaction and curiosity.  If everything is made of the same space dust, why should we feel so separate? From the Earth and from each other, there must be a way to see past it all. Through language and illustration, i n d i f f e r e n t s p a c e  is an attempt to illuminate some of the connections I’ve been working with.

This 12 page, pocket-sized book is printed in heavy black on 100% recycled, acid-free paper. Now available for just $6 (plus postage) through me or Etsy!

Timber Timbre - Like A Mountain

I’d like to thank the FC for turning me on to this wonderful band.

I’ve been secretly working…

usually I post illustrations and such as I complete them, but this next project is more of a whole than individual pieces. But I can’t take it any longer!! Here’s a sneak peek of

My little brother, Jesse, moved to Changsha, China this morning?! This is quite possibly the craziest decision of anyone in my family, ever. I’m super excited to hear about his travels… and hope to get some candy or seeds mailed to me!
I’ll miss you buddy!

THE FUTURE REVIEW
if you’re a fan of miranda july, or just of life altering indie films… you’ll really want to like this movie. i mean, you’ll sit down and be totally ready to laugh and feel connected to every word miranda has to whisper. but once you’ve made the commitment to love this movie, it may sting a little when the future gets a bit trivial.
of course, miranda is successful in her usually way: of narrating the mundane lives of a generation lost to wasted potential; articulating exactly how you feel at exactly this moment. regrettably, little things like, miranda’s complete incapability to smile without relaying discomfort, get in the way of an otherwise poetic film. her eyes, iridescent drops of blue, always seem to be sheltering tears, eliciting a confused response from the audience… or maybe just from me. though, after ninety minutes of watching indifferent sadness, i felt a little less motivated than when the movie began.
so while it’s full of poignant lines about the human condition, and the suffering of white privilege, the future doesn’t exactly make you want to change your life… but i guess it really wasn’t its’ job to change your shitty life anyway.

I know it’s not a big deal…. but i was super excited to see my book, Mountain Wilds, made it to Quimby’s Weekly Top 10 Bestseller List!

I know it’s nothing new, but I really like the idea of repurposing used clothing as the raw materials for new things, mainly bags…
I spent about 6 hours last night making a new duffel bag from this ugly black jacket and huge red western shirt for my trip to Arizona. Picture following soon!

Also, I’ve drawn in the negative before and made the finished product a positive… but I’ve never inverted (and liked) a normal drawing, but this one came out quite nice!

I’m trying to focus more on writing lately, as it seems all I illustrate is how-to books and other peoples poetry!
